eSIM help center
Find the right guide for choosing a plan, checking your phone, installing an eSIM, or fixing a connection.
Start with the task in front of you. If you already have an eSIM, keep the instructions supplied by its issuing provider nearby: activation, roaming, and installation rules depend on the plan.

Before you choose a plan
Check the exact phone model, purchase region, and carrier restrictions. Then compare the plan's country list, allowance, validity, and any features you need. Hotspot, calls, and SMS are separate details to confirm.
For a trip with several stops, check each country rather than relying on a regional label. Start with the Japan, China, or Europe planning guide, or browse all destinations.
Install and get connected
Our installation overview explains what to prepare before departure and what to check on arrival. The iPhone and Android guides link to the manufacturers' current instructions.
Keep your QR code and activation details private. Confirm when validity begins before installing; installation is not always the event that starts a package.
Common questions
Does every phone with an Add eSIM button work with every plan?
No. The device needs to support the selected provider, and carrier restrictions or regional model differences may still matter. Use the compatibility checklist before choosing.
Can I install before I travel?
Check the exact plan's start rule and installation deadline first. Installing early is useful only when it fits those rules. See activation and expiry.
Do I need data roaming switched on?
Follow the instructions for the travel plan. Apply the setting to the intended line and review your home line separately. Your home carrier's roaming terms still apply if you use that line.
Will I keep my phone number?
A travel data plan does not automatically replace or include a phone number. With a supported device, your home line may remain available, subject to its carrier terms. Read calls, SMS, and dual-line use.
Should I delete the eSIM if it will not connect?
Keep it installed while checking the plan status and data settings. A deleted profile may not be reusable. Use the troubleshooting sequence and ask the issuing provider before removing a profile you still need.
