How to install a travel eSIM on Android
Follow the setup path for Google Pixel or Samsung Galaxy and review your data line.
Android setup paths differ between phone makers and software versions. Begin with the exact phone you own and the instructions supplied with the eSIM. A menu path for a Pixel is not always the path on a Galaxy.
Check the model and plan first
Confirm the model's eSIM support, sales-region details, carrier restrictions, and support from the issuing provider. Read the device checklist if any part is unclear.
Also confirm when the package begins. Install before departure only when the plan's timing rules allow that without using days you need for the trip. Keep a reliable internet connection available during setup.
Google Pixel setup
Google's current setup path is Settings > Network & internet > SIMs > Add SIM > Set up an eSIM. Follow the on-screen instructions for the method supplied by the provider. Google notes that the process can vary with the carrier. See Google's Pixel setup guide.
If a profile was already added, inspect the list of SIMs before trying to add it again. When asking for help, include the exact screen or error rather than assuming the QR code has failed.
Samsung Galaxy setup
Samsung's instructions use Settings > Connections > SIM manager > Add eSIM and, for a supplied QR code, Scan QR code. Follow the prompts to add the plan. Samsung notes that availability and screens depend on the device, region, software, and carrier. See Samsung's official eSIM guide.
For another Android brand, use that manufacturer's current instructions for your model. Look for SIM or mobile-network settings rather than changing unrelated network options to match a screenshot.
Choose the line you intend to use
Give the profile a useful label. When the plan is eligible and you are in a covered destination, enable that line and select it for mobile data. Apply only the roaming and APN settings specified by the provider.
Review the home SIM separately. Keeping it active can still be subject to the home carrier's roaming terms. Hotspot use is also a separate plan feature; see hotspot, calls, and SMS if you will share the connection.
If setup or data fails
Note whether the problem happened while downloading the profile or after it appeared in the SIM list. Those are different issues. Keep the error message and avoid repeatedly deleting the installed profile.
Use the connection checklist for an installed eSIM with no internet. Contact the issuing provider if installation itself fails or the supplied credentials are rejected.
