eSIM installed but no internet? Start here
A careful troubleshooting sequence for a travel eSIM that will not connect.
Keep the eSIM installed while you identify the problem. An installed profile can be present on a phone even when the data package is not active or the phone has not joined an eligible network.
1. Check the plan, place, and time
Confirm that the current country is on the plan's coverage list. Check whether the package has started, expired, or used its allowance. If it needs a scheduled start or a separate activation step, check that with the issuing provider.
A profile installed before a trip may not connect outside its supported destinations. Refer to the exact plan terms rather than assuming a successful installation guarantees service in your current location. Our validity guide explains the different events.
2. Check the selected line
Find the profile in SIM or mobile-service settings. Make sure it is enabled and selected for mobile data. If you have several lines, check the label carefully. Follow the provider's roaming instructions for the travel line; separately review the home line to avoid unintended use.
Google's Pixel connection guidance includes checking that the SIM and mobile data are enabled. Apple's No Service guidance covers line status and network checks on iPhone.
3. Refresh the connection without deleting the profile
Check the signal where you are. If practical, try another nearby location with a clearer signal. On iPhone, Apple suggests turning Airplane Mode on for at least 15 seconds, turning it off, and restarting when needed. Use the official instructions for your own device.
Give the phone time to register according to the provider's guidance. There is no single connection time that applies to every travel plan.
4. Check network and APN instructions
If the provider lists supported networks or a manual selection step, use those exact instructions. Do not choose a network solely because it has the strongest-looking signal. The plan must be allowed to use it.
For APN details, use only the values supplied for the selected profile. Save the current settings before making an instructed change. Random APN values from a forum can make troubleshooting harder.
Leave broader actions such as resetting network settings until you understand what the device will remove and the provider or manufacturer recommends them. Deleting the eSIM is not a routine first step.
5. Give support useful evidence
Send the issuing provider the order reference, current location, exact device model, error message, and steps already tried. A screenshot of the relevant settings can help, but hide unrelated personal information. Provide full profile identifiers only through its private support channel when requested.
If the problem is installation rather than connectivity, use the iPhone or Android guide. Visit the help center to find the right topic or contact Buy eSIM Plans about this website.
